Summer Coffee Round Up

It's been a very hot and dry summer here in London, and monsoon season over in India, but we've been busy doing lots of coffee things on both places. Read on to find out more!

Coffee News from London

The start of summer saw us popping up at local school fêtes and doing a little stint at the Duck Pond in Ruislip. It was so nice to be out and about meeting and chatting to people, and we've had such a nice response from everyone. We'll be back this autumn, so keep your eye on our socials to see where we'll be and do come and say hello.

We also had a lovely priest, Fr Jordan McDermott who has agreed to be a Good Influencer for us (so exciting - we have our own influencer!) He does brilliant posts on Instagram and TikTok, and he kindly did one for us. You can watch it here.

Coffee News from the Estate in India

It's been monsoon season in India, so there hasn't been all that much going on as nature has been doing her beautiful thing. But, as you can imagine, there are always things that need to be doing during the in-between-the-rains dry periods.

Our team of workers have been out and about clearing the weeds around the coffee plants and doing some pruning. In the photo above, you can see them with the hand-held sickle knives - we use traditional methods on Kulkumry so that things are far less invasive and better for nature - and you can watch more behind the scenes on our socials.

These sickles are used to prune the middle of the coffee plants which sends a signal to the plants to stop growing leaves there and grow berries instead, and these berries of course, become coffee cherries, which then get dried, and roasted and turned into our lovely Blesséd Brew coffee.
