Introducing Chandrika, Moonlight Coffee: Harvested During the Full Moon

A cup of Chandrika Speciality Coffee sits in a silver cup and saucer in front of

Our precious Chandrika, Moonlight Coffee, is harvested during the full moon & lovingly roasted in small batches by our master roaster in the UK.

Coffee Rooted in Ayurveda

In Ayurvedic tradition, the full moon is a time of gentle energy & mindful creation, when nature is believed to receive the moon's fullest blessing.

For centuries, farmers across India have honoured this auspicious time by celebrating their finest harvests. Ethically & sustainably grown on our own Kulkumry Coffee Estate, this single-estate Arabica offers a taste of one of India's finest coffee-growing regions, bringing kindness & a gentle sprinkling of moonlight magic to every cup.

Behind the Scenes of our Chandrika, Moonlight Coffee

To go behind the scenes of our coffee estate, click here so you can take a look at how our coffee is dried naturally in the sun to preserve all the natural goodness and flavours inherent in our Indian speciality coffee.

Natural Coffee

At Kulkumry Coffee Estate, we use the natural process for our coffee. It's one of the oldest and simplest methods of processing coffee. After the cherries are harvested, the whole coffee cherry is dried intact, rather than removing the fruit immediately. This allows the beans to absorb flavours from the surrounding fruit, and in the case of Chandrika, takes on a beautiful apple flavour that is enhanced in the roasting process by our Master Roaster in the UK.

Water Saving

The great thing about processing coffee this way is that it:

  • uses very little water, making it environmentally friendly in dry regions.

  • can produce exceptionally sweet, complex coffees.

  • requires relatively simple equipment.

Lower Acidity

It also produces coffee with perceived acidity than washed coffees.

You can taste our single-origin Chandrika, grown on our very own Kulkumry Coffee Estate and harvested during full moon here.
