Here's a Diwali-inspired coffee recipe using Bonaventure coffee beans. This blend captures the festival’s warmth and spices while embracing a rich coffee experience.
Diwali Spiced Latte Recipe
Ingredients:
18g Bonaventure coffee beans, medium-dark roast (freshly ground)
250ml whole milk (or any milk alternative)
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp jaggery or brown sugar (adjust to taste)
A pinch of saffron strands (optional but adds richness)
Method:
Brew the Coffee:
Use your preferred brewing method (French press, espresso machine, or pour-over) to brew the Bonaventure coffee. Aim for a strong shot or base of around 60ml for a latte.
Prepare the Spiced Milk:
In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium-low heat until it begins to steam.
Add cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and saffron (if using) to the milk, whisking to combine.
Add jaggery or brown sugar, allowing it to dissolve into the milk.
Froth the Milk:
Froth the spiced milk using a frother or whisk until it’s smooth and velvety.
Assemble the Latte:
Pour the brewed Bonaventure coffee into a mug.
Pour the spiced frothed milk over the coffee, stirring lightly to combine.
Garnish:
Top with a light dusting of cinnamon or a few strands of saffron for an extra touch.
Tips:
For added warmth, serve with a few cashews or a sprinkle of chopped pistachios on top.
For an iced version, chill the coffee and spiced milk mixture, then serve over ice.
Enjoy your Diwali latte!
